In our clinic, we work a lot with hormones and menopause, but we have a slightly different approach. We use a soy-extracted hormone mix of three estrogens (Estradiol, Estrone, Estriol), along with micronized progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA. This soy-extracted mix, called 6HRT, is supplied in a dissolvable troche placed under the tongue at bed time, going right into the bloodstream and bypassing the gut. The 6HRT is calculated in the same percentage and ratio the body produces them prior to menopause.
Women often feel so much better that they stay on the 6HRT. However, it works very nicely to use for just 6 months or a year to ease through menopause. The troches can be easily cut into half or quarters, thus making dosage adjustments and tapering very easy. We can also change the total dosage in the troche for the individual women’s needs.
